Historical Gemini 4 mission

(NASA. LARGE FORMAT. GEMINI-4. EVA. H WHITE II) Historic Gemini 4 mission: first American spacewalk. Astronaut Edward H. White II, pilot of the Gemini-Titan 4 space flight, floats in zero gravity off the coast of California. This extravehicular activity was performed during the third revolution of the Gemini 4 spacecraft. White is tethered to the spacecraft by a 7.5m umbilical line and a 7m tether line, both wrapped with gold tape to form a single cord. In his right hand, White carries a hand-held homing unit (HHSMU). His helmet visor is gold-plated to protect him from the sun's unfiltered rays. The photo was taken on June 3, 1965.later chromogenic print. Numbering on the front.
