For collectors and history lovers, our auction house is responsible for dispersing the exceptional library of the late Alex CARMES, a brilliant scholar of military affairs, the history of nations and military costume. Author of the book Die Uniformierung der k.k. Armee 1792-1815 and numerous articles in specialized magazines, he collected since his early youth many books with plates and learned writings.
We will find in the catalog of this first sale original editions : CARL, MÜLLER, ISNARD, PELET, LEMAU, WOLF, JÜGEL, GODEFROID, MANSION..., books from the collection of Raoul and Jean BRUNON, works from the QUATUOR editions and any work worthy of being in a military library.
We will find in particular the exceptional copy intended for Louis XVI of Houvet de Secouet Histoire généalogique des régimens de France of 1786, from his library in a magnificent royal morocco.
This sale will continue in the fall with the second and last part of the library as well as a sale of lead and tin figurines and soldiers.
