The first images revealed show a territory that sometimes reminds some of the Earth's desert reliefs. The feeling that human life will one day be possible on the red planet is affirmed. 40 years later, the planet MARS has become the number one objective of the human space conquest. By the middle of the 21st century we can assume that a human colony of several thousand men and women will already be present on MARS. The first photographs of MARS highlight each of the technical aspects of the VIKING mission and beyond are the witnesses of the first pages of the greatest human revolution of all times: the colonization of a new planet by Man.
